Lake Area Shootout

The Lake Area Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest and is sponsored by the Fire Departments at the Lake of the Ozarks. All proceeds benefit local Fire Department & Water Rescue teams so important to the lake area.  So come and see some really cool and really fast boats race through the course.  Boats over 22 feet in length are allowed to run, and race in classes by length, hull design, size of motors, and number of motors throughout the day.

Come by land or come by water to the 21MM on August 26th and 27th.   Some of the fastest boats will by competing  to gain honors as this years Top Gun.  Last years winner was Callan Marine clocking in at 201 mph.  Could this year see a new record speed?

Fireworks

Fireworks on the water happen on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Lodge of the Four Seasons 14MM on Sunday the 2nd, Gravois Arm 6MM on the Monday the 3rd, Tan-Tar-A Resort 23MM on the 4th, and Hooligan Bay in Sunrise Beach also on the 4th.

Psst....you can also view the Lodge of the Four Seasons display from the 4MM cove as the fireworks come up over the ridge, but get there early for a good spot to anchor.

St Patrick's Day Parades

You can watch or participate, on land or on water....just remember to wear green and be ready to celebrate.  There are two main events on or around St Patrick's Day at the lake.  For 21 years spectators have lined Business 54 in Lake Ozark to watch amazingly decorated floats parade by often handing out colorful beads and candy for the kids.  For those who choose to dewinterize early, there is a boat parade sponsored by the West Chamber of Commerce that floats up the Gravois Arm to a couple of waterfront restaurants.  Prizes are awarded to the best decorated boat as well as the best crew.  So get out the green and join in the fun to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
